  • Acetic acid, in its standard form, is often found in solutions varying in concentration, usually ranging from 5% (used in vinegar) to around 90% for industrial purposes. On the other hand, glacial acetic acid refers to pure acetic acid, which is an anhydrous state, containing no water. It is called glacial because it solidifies to form ice-like crystals at temperatures below 16.6 degrees Celsius (62 degrees Fahrenheit). By contrast, regular acetic acid remains a liquid even at lower temperatures when in solution with water.
